Free Sitting Community Portraits

For this project I teamed up with Stand Alone Gallery to transform the portrait studio into an architectural space, and the act of making the portrait into a social event in various public spaces

A recurring theme in my photographic work, is the power of the camera to shape social situations. I pose and photograph bystanders who become performers by being cast in new, fictive families for my lens. Their imaginary relationships are immortalized in these family portraits, as they also become participants in the performance.
