These reproductions were created in a limited edition of 50 especially for the DUMBO Under the Bridge Festival and Triangle Alumni show.

Each box contains eight 4 x 5 inch reproductions featuring details from my ongoing interest in a ubiquitous, yet unconsidered, social custom : the studio portrait. Embeded in these benign images is a rich history of the aesthetics and commerce of photography.

This series contains 4 images from “Free Sitting” a body of work made undercover while working as portrait photographer at a well known, but undisclosed retail store in suburban Ohio.

4 portraits are highlights from a new collaboration with sixty fifth grade students who conceived, orchestrated, and titled their own school portraits.
